Kanha National Park – The Jewel of Conservation and Wilderness.

Kanha National Park was famously known for its tigers and tiger safaris. For the Gond and Baiga kings alongside the British, it served as a royal hunting ground. Hunting excursions were quite popular which resulted in great population decline in wildlife.
People still began expressing panic in the early twentieth century. This led to the movement for the conservation of nature which resulted in the creation of Kanha National Park in 1933 and finally being declared a national park in 1955. The story of Kanha took a radical shift in 1973 when it was declared as one of the first 9 parks that were taken under the ambitious Project Tiger which was started with hopes that it would help in stopping the decrease in the population of the Royal Bengal Tiger.
